Our history
Our journey began in 2010 with the opening of Djäkne Kaffebar, a place where coffee was always the main focus. From day one, we introduced the concept of Coffee of the Week—a rotating selection that allowed our customers to explore new and exciting coffees each week. This idea stemmed from our passion for showcasing the diversity of coffee and creating a deeper experience for those who, like us, love to discover unique flavors.
Why We Do What We Do
At Nordic Style Coffee, we believe coffee is more than just a drink—it’s an experience, a craft, and a connection to something greater. Our passion for Nordic-style roasting and our love for sharing extraordinary coffee experiences drive everything we do.
We find immense satisfaction in exploring new coffees, learning about their unique characteristics, and sharing that knowledge with others. It’s not just about tasting great coffee, but about deepening the appreciation and understanding of what makes each cup special.
How Can We Make a Difference?
High-quality, expensive coffee doesn’t always mean that the producers are fairly compensated. For us in the Nordics, coffee is grown far from home. If sustainability were our only concern, drinking water would be the better option. But will people stop drinking coffee? Unlikely. So, if we’re going to continue enjoying it, let’s do everything we can to make it as sustainable as possible.
What we are working on
In addition to continuing to develop our subscription and our coffee laboratory, we are also working on the following new products:
A digital coffee journal
We’re developing a digital coffee journal that will allow you to track and explore your coffee experiences. Whether you’re noting brew methods, origins, or flavor profiles, our app will give you the tools to dive deeper into the world of specialty coffee.
The Nordic Coffee Wonder
We're also working on a book that delves into the essence of Nordic-style coffee. Titled The Nordic Coffee Wonder, it will explore the history, culture, and impact of this roasting style. Stay tuned for insights and stories that will deepen your appreciation for this unique corner of the specialty coffee world.
